Neuropsychology
Neuropsychology is a subspecialty of psychology. The emphasis is assessment of verbal/visual memory, attention, processing speed, executive function, language, and constructional praxis.
These come from CERAD [Consortium to Establish an Alzheimer's Registry], and/or Halstead Reitan, and NCAA concussion protocols.
The purpose of neuropsychological assessments is to help with diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders/diseases related to the following:
Dementia
ADHD
Concussion/TBI
MS
Parkinson's Disease
Essential Tremor
DBS [Deep Brain Stimulation evaluations]
Spinal Cord Stimulator for pain
Stroke
Tumor/cancer
Epilepsy
After receiving my doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis on neuropsychology in 2016, I completed post-doctorate fellowship in both psychology and neuropsychology. My dissertation was comparing neuropsychological test batteries within the Parkinson's Disease population and today I am honored to continue to work with neurology and neurosurgery teams in Colorado.
In addition to private practice, I proudly serve our local communities in the hospital settings. I enjoy reading research and learning about neuroscience. Outside of my professional career, I enjoy being with my family, hiking, running, and mountain biking.
